Minnesota dental clinic in need of emergency funds to recover from flood damage

A Minnesota dental clinic is struggling to return to its level of operation before suffering from flood damages in 2024, according to a commentary article posted Feb. 15 by the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Scenic Rivers Health Services's nonprofit dental clinic in Cook, Minn., is the only dental clinic in the area and serves patients under Medicaid and Veterans Affairs. The clinic suffered extensive damage to its building and dental equipment after the city was hit with heavy rainfall in June, leading it to shut down for two months. It is now in need of additional funds to return to full operating capacity.

The clinic received some donated dental equipment and support from state organizations, which has allowed it to resume care in four of its nine operatories, but is in need of an estimated $750,000 to fully recover. Its online fundraiser has raised $7,315 so far.
