The Oral Health Products Inclusion Act was introduced Feb. 11 to increase access to oral care items that can be purchased with flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
Three notes:
1. The bill was introduced in the House of Representatives, and is backed by the ADA and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, according to a Feb. 11 news release.
2. The Consumer Healthcare Products Association said the bill would help reduce long-term medical costs for health conditions potentially caused by poor oral hygiene.
3. The bill is sponsored by Reps. Jeff Van Drew, DMD, Brad Schneider, Nicole Malliotakis and Jimmy Panetta.
