The Maine Veterans' Dental Network will continue to serve patients in 2025 through a grant from Northeast Delta Dental.
The program offers dental services to veterans in Maine who cannot pay for services out of pocket and do not have dental insurance, according to a Feb. 11 news release from Gov. Janet Mills.
Since launching in 2021, the network has provided oral healthcare services to nearly 1,500 Maine veterans.
Northeast Delta Dental has contributed $35,000 to help launch the program and has provided $500,000 to extend it.
More than 20 nonprofit dental clinics, federal qualified health centers and dental teaching schools throughout the state participate in the program, the release said.
