Bill to improve dental care for veterans signed into law

President Joe Biden signed a bill that aims to modernize the delivery of care and benefits, including dental care, to veterans and caregivers.

The Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act was passed unanimously in the U.S. Senate and passed with a 382-12 vote in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to a Jan. 9 news release from the American Dental Association.

The ADA sent a letter to Congress prior to the bill being passed, pushing to improve veteran's access to high-quality dental care, either through the Department of Veterans Affairs Dentistry or through private dentists.

President Biden signed the bill into law Jan. 2, the release said.
