Christina Mills, DDS, a dentist in Culpepper, Va., has voluntarily surrendered her dental license to practice dentistry in the state.
The Virginia Board of Dentistry suspended the license of Dr. Mills in November after alleging that she prescribed controlled substances to herself and her children for non-therapeutic purposes.
An investigation revealed that from Jan. 1, 2016, through June 20, 2024, Dr. Mills prescribed to herself and received 2,214 Percocet pills, 126 Vicodin pills, 269 pills of Schedule II controlled narcotic pain drugs, 930 pills of Adderall and 860 pills of Xanax using an alias without any dental purpose or any corresponding treatment records.
In an Aug. 14 interview with a DHP investigator, Dr. Mills admitted that she created false patient records under the alias after previously claiming the name being used for the alias was one of her patients.
The board stated that Dr. Mills' license will be recorded as permanently surrendered and Dr. Mills will not be eligible for renewal or reinstatement of her dental license at any future date.
