13 dental industry updates in California

Here are 13 dental industry updates in California that Becker's has reported on since Oct. 5: 

1. Sacramento, Calif.-based Children's Choice Dental Care opened a practice in Bakersfield, Calif.

2. Six dental schools in California were recently ranked among the best in the world.

3. A California dentist was arrested in connection to allegations of sexual battery during dental procedures. 

4. Proposition 35 was approved by California voters Nov. 5th to boost funding for dental and other healthcare services. 

5. The Medi-Cal Dental program implemented online care coordination to make dental care more accessible in California.

6. Delta Dental of California is now the official dental insurance partner of the San Francisco 49ers.

7. Dental benefits provider DentaQuest received dental managed care contracts from the California Department of Health Care Services.

8. A California dentist and five of his employees were charged with defrauding the state Medi-Cal program of nearly $900,000.
