Biddeford, Maine-based Community Dental has issued a notice about a data privacy event that affected its computer systems.
An investigation revealed that certain computer systems were accessible to an unknown actor between Sept. 19, 2023 and Sept. 20, 2023, according to an Oct. 23 notice.
The cyberattack resulted in unauthorized access to patient information including full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, health insurance information and medical information.
Community Dental reported the event to the appropriate agencies, including the FBI and HHS.
The dental group operates four practices in Maine.
