Bill Sasser, DMD, was recently named the recipient of the ADA's 2024 Humanitarian Award.
Dr. Sasser is the executive director of the Dental Community Fellowship, an organization that participates in several international dental mission trips each year. Dr. Sasser has led or participated in nearly 140 trips in 34 countries in the last two decades.
Dr. Sasser also founded the North Charleston Dental Outreach clinic in South Carolina. The clinic provides services to individuals experiencing financial challenges or who are uninsured.
The ADA presents the Humanitarian Award to one member each year for their dedication to improving the oral health of underserved populations. The award comes with a $10,000 donation to a charity of the recipient's choice, according to an Oct. 17 news release.
