Arizona woman pleads guilty to practicing dentistry without a license

A Phoenix woman pleaded guilty to performing dental procedures without an Arizona license, according to a Sept. 25 report by ABC 15 Arizona.

Geraldine Goez was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and will also be responsible for paying restitution should any victims come forward.

Ms. Goez portrayed herself as a dentist on social media, advertising $100 teeth cleanings and $10 X-rays. The procedures took place between Jan. 1, 2023, and June 17, 2024.

An investigation by the Arizona Attorney General's Office found a dental chair, numbing medication, an X-ray machine and multiple teeth in the trash in Ms. Goez's home.

According to her attorney, Ms. Goez graduated from a Colombian dental school and practiced at dental clinics there.

In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of fraudulent schemes. The charge of practicing dentistry without a license was designated as a misdemeanor rather than a felony, the report said.

Ms. Goez was charged with practicing illegally out of her home in June.
