A dentist in Cumming, Ga., was indicted on multiple counts of Medicaid fraud by the Georgia attorney general, according to an Aug. 15 report by 11 Alive.
Farid Moghaddam, DMD, who operates North Cumming Dentistry, is accused of collecting nearly $40,000 from false Medicaid claims.
According to the indictment, Dr. Moghaddam collected the amounts from services he claimed to have provided to four Medicaid beneficiaries between 2016 and 2022.
Over the course of the scheme, Dr. Moghaddam received payments of $39,563.91 to his bank account.
Dr. Moghaddam is charged with four counts of Medicaid fraud and 11 counts of false felony writings, the document said.
