The Migliaccio & Rathod law firm is investigating a recent data breach at a Wisconsin dental group.
Madison, Wis.-based First Choice Dental recently provided a notice of a data ransomware attack on its network. The company first detected the attack on Oct. 22, 2023, when an unauthorized actor gained access to First Choice Dental's network, encrypted some of the company's data and attempted to extort a ransom payment.
Information that may have been accessed during the attack includes names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, passport numbers, driver's license numbers, government identification numbers, credit and debit card numbers, financial account numbers and health information.
The data breach affected 228,287 individuals, Migliaccio & Rathod said in a July 18 news release.
