Illinois legislators are considering a bill that would allow dental school graduates to practice while waiting for license approval, WGEM reported April 8.
HB5059 would amend the Illinois Dental Practice Act to allow graduates enrolled in an accredited dental residency or specialty training program to practice for up to three months while waiting for their license to be approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
The Illinois State Dental Society has backed the bill, WGEM reported.
