The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry's special needs healthcare clinic received a $100,000 grant to improve patient care and accessibility.
The grant will be used to upgrade the Minneapolis-based clinic's technology and facility needs to improve on efficiency, treatment and access to care, according to a Feb. 20 news release from the university.
The clinic's focus is mainly on providing dental care to older adults and patients with complex medical conditions, developmental disabilities and physical disabilities.
With the funds, the clinic will add a panoramic X-ray along with other imaging units.
The clinic received a clinical dental education and innovations grant from the state's department of health, the release said.
