A woman in Las Vegas was charged with illegal practice of dentistry, according to a Feb. 5 report by ABC affiliate KLAS.
Monica Davis ran The Veneers Experts after moving to Las Vegas from Illinois, but state investigators said she did not have a license to practice in Nevada or Illinois.
One patient who went to the business to get a procedure left with a larger tooth, and several surrounding teeth were fused together. Two weeks after the appointment, the veneer broke off. The patient then went to a dentist who said the material used in the procedure was "not real dentist-grade."
The Nevada Department of Public Safety arrested Ms. Davis on Jan. 30. She posted bond and has a court date in March, the report said.
