Three states have recently disciplined dentists for violations related to patient care and fines.
Here are four cases Becker's has reported on since Jan. 18:
1. An Arizona dentist agreed to stop practicing dentistry for two years after one of his patients died.
2. The Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission indefinitely suspended the license of Andrew Lai, DDS, after he violated the terms and conditions of a modified order by missing fine payments.
3. The Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission and Shawn Keller, DDS, agreed to restrictions of his dental license for "substandard care."
4. The Iowa Dental Board suspended the license of Calvin Weber, DDS, over charges of "improper sexual contact with or making lewd, lascivious or improper remarks or advances to a patient."
