A Utah man was recently charged with practicing unlicensed dentistry in a basement of a residence, ksl.com reported Jan. 31.
Enrique Moroni Gomez Vera, 32, was charged with unlawful occupational or professional conduct.
An investigation into Mr. Vera began in November after a student at the Utah College of Dental Hygiene in Orem reported that they treated a friend who allegedly had dental work done by Mr. Vera. The friend reportedly said she visited a home in Taylorsville, Utah, to have a tooth pulled. She later experienced pain from the procedure.
Investigators served a search warrant on the home and allegedly found dental tools, payment documents, medications and a dental cleaning machine.
