Illinois is the state with the best dental health, according to personal finance website WalletHub, jumping from No. 2 in 2023.
The site ranked all 50 states and Washington, D.C., based on two major metrics: dental habits and care and oral health. Those two broad categories were split into 25 dental wellness key metrics. WalletHub published the rankings Jan. 31.
Both categories were worth 50 points, giving each state a score out of 100.
Here are the 10 states with the best dental health, along with their total score:

- Wisconsin: 71.82
- Idaho: 70.53
- Minnesota: 70.29
- Michigan: 70.09
- Connecticut: 69.92
- District of Columbia: 69.74
- North Dakota: 68.54
- Massachusetts: 67.47
- Ohio: 65.21
