A dental practice in Hadley, Mass., recently shut down after operating for 57 years, the Daily Hampshire Gazette reported Jan. 22.
River Valley Dental was opened in 1967 and had been run by Babak Gojgini, DMD, since 2010.
Signs on the office's doors state that the office is closed and the practice's website has also been taken down. The office's voicemail message states that the practice permanently closed "due to unforeseen circumstances."
Dr. Gojgini told the news organization that he was unable to share details about the practice.
The news organization reported that Dr. Gojgini is required by the state to help patients transition their care to a new practice if he does not reopen River Valley Dental. He must also continue to provide emergency services for 30 days after notifying patients of the closure.
