A former Illinois dentist pleaded guilty to wire fraud after practicing unlicensed dentistry, the Daily Herald reported Jan. 16.
Diane Meyer, DDS, had her license revoked in 2013 but allegedly continued to charge and treat at least 90 people until 2016. She was charged with two counts of theft in excess of $100,000, two counts of wire fraud and one count of financial institution fraud in excess of $100,000.
Ms. Meyer accepted a prison sentence of two and a half years in exchange for her guilty plea. She will have to serve at least half of her sentence before being eligible for parole, the news organization reported.
