Georgia had a positive net migration of new dentists from 2019 to 2022, with a net migration rate of 8.6%, according to the American Dental Association.
The ADA classified new dentists as dentists who had less than 10 years of experience in 2019 and who were still active in 2022.
Here are five additional notes:
1. There were 1,093 new dentists in Georgia in 2019, and 980 (89.7%) remained in the state in 2022.
2. Georgia had 1,187 new dentists in 2022, for a positive net migration of 94 new dentists.
3. There were 207 new dentists who entered Georgia between 2019 and 2022 and 113 who left.
4. The top inbound states from which new dentists entered Georgia were Texas and North Carolina, each bringing in 16 new dentists.
5. Florida was the top outbound state for new Georgia dentists, drawing 12 new dentists away.
