Florida had a positive net migration of new dentists from 2019 to 2022, with a net migration rate of 5.1%, according to the American Dental Association.
The ADA classified new dentists as dentists who had less than 10 years of experience in 2019 and who were still active in 2022.
Here are five additional notes:
1. There were 3,154 new dentists in Florida in 2019, and 2,838 (90%) remained in the state in 2022.
2. Florida had 3,315 new dentists in 2022, for a net migration of 161 new dentists.
3. There were 477 new dentists who entered Florida between 2019 and 2022 and 316 that left.
4. The top inbound state from which new dentists entered Florida was New York, bringing in 51 new dentists.
5. Texas was the top outbound state for new Florida dentists, drawing 43 new dentists away.
