Batesville, Ark.-based Lyon College is searching for a new location for its new dental and veterinary schools after a property deal fell through, kait8.com reported Nov. 13.
The college announced in May 2022 that it planned to purchase property at the Heifer International complex through OneHealth Education Group, an arm of OneHealth Companies. The college received city approval to construct the building at the site in October.
Peter Goldstein, vice president of communications for Heifer International, could not tell the news station why the deal fell through.
OneHealth CEO Merritt Dake told Arkansas Business that the business support company still plans to help Lyon College open the two schools, which will be the first dental and veterinary schools in the state.
A spokesperson from Lyon College told Arkansas Business that the college will still continue the accreditation process, but the news organization reported that the failure of the deal could delay the college's plans to open the schools in 2025.
