The Washington State Department of Health's Dental Quality Assurance Commission recently suspended the license and moderate sedation permit of a dentist charged with unsafe practices leading to the death of a patient.
Thi Nguyen, DDS, faces several charges before the commission including not adequately assessing the patient's level of risk and not providing enough medication to reverse the effects of sedatives used during the July 15, 2022 procedure.
Dr. Nguyen has 20 days to respond to the charges and request a hearing, according to a Nov. 3 news release. He is not authorized to practice in the state until the charges are resolved.
