From DSO affiliations to staffing shortages, here are seven dentistry updates that have taken place in Minnesota since June 30:
1. Two group practices in Minnesota joined to form Park Dental Partners.
2. The shortage of dental assistants and dental hygienists is causing some practices in Minnesota to cut their hours.
3. A retail center in Oak Park Heights, Minn., including an Aspen Dental practice, was sold for $5.8 million.
4. Rosalie Perpich, DDS, was installed as president of the Minnesota Dental Association.
5. Imagen Dental Partners and Heartland Dental added affiliate practices in the state.
6. Bemidji, Minn.-based nonprofit Northern Dental Access Center acquired the Bagley Dental Clinic.
7. Curt Cotton, DDS, of St. Joseph-based Milbert, Johnson & Cotton Family Dentistry, plans to retire after 47 years of practice.
