Dentists affiliated with a DSO and dentists in private practice have similar levels of confidence in the economic recovery of the dental industry and their dental practice, according to a poll from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.
The ADA's monthly "Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues in Dentistry" survey gauged respondents' confidence in the economic recovery of dentistry and their particular practice within the next six months.

Very confident: 16.1% for DSOs; 14.7% for non-DSOs
Somewhat confident: 35.7% for DSOs; 39.5% for non-DSOs
Neither confident nor skeptical: 30.4% for DSOs; 23.9% for non-DSOs
Somewhat skeptical: 16.1% for DSOs; 18.1% for non-DSOs
Very skeptical: 1.7% for DSOs; 3.8% for non-DSOs
