Two New York City dental practices were recently damaged by floods after heavy rain hit the area, CBS New York reported Sept. 29.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency Sept. 29 after heavy rainfall caused flash flooding.
Wasserman Cosmetic & Family Dentistry and Fine Comprehensive Dental Practice were damaged by the flooding, but have also suffered other floods in the past. The owners told the news station that the city is not taking the time to investigate the cause of the floods.
Both practices said they have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on repairs for flood damage in recent years.
Wasserman Cosmetic & Family Dentistry told the news station it planned to cancel appointments for the second time this month. Jerry Wasserman, DDS, added that the practice would be out of business for about a month.
