The Nebraska Legislature is weighing potentially joining the dentists and dental hygienist compact, according to a Sept. 20 report by NBC affiliate WOWT.
The compact makes it easier for dental professionals with a license from a participating state to get a license to practice in other states that are part of the agreement.
The compact would make it easier for more out-of-state workers to move to Nebraska, helping combat the healthcare workforce shortages in the state.
Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Minnesota and Kansas have introduced legislation to join the compact, while Iowa, Tennessee and Washington have already joined.
