The American Dental Association has expressed its support for the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act introduced in the House of Representatives.
The ADA wrote a letter Sept. 18 to four U.S. representatives commending them for their work on the bill and highlighting its importance. Part of the legislation expands the Community Health Center Fund, the National Health Services Corps and the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program, according to a Sept. 19 news release from the ADA.
Increasing funding to these programs would help address workforce shortages in the medical and dental industries, while also giving dentists opportunities to reduce student loan debt.
Expanding the programs would also help improve access to dental care to underserved communities, the release said.
