Dentists in New Mexico, the worst state to live in according to personal finance website WalletHub, make an average of $184,060 annually.
In a report released Aug. 14, WalletHub determined the best states to live in. The site ranked all 50 states across five dimensions: affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life and safety. Those dimensions were then evaluated using 51 metrics, including the states' unemployment rates, housing affordability and quality of their public school systems.
Salary information comes from May 2022 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
