The future of a Vermont dental clinic that had its operations scaled back months ago is now being reevaluated, the Bennington Banner reported July 20.
The Southwestern Vermont Medical Center opened the clinic on its campus in 2018 to increase access to care for Medicaid recipients. The practice offered a variety of services, including preventive care, general dentistry, restorations, implants and cosmetic dentistry.
Operations were scaled back several months ago to only include emergency care for children referred from the hospital's emergency department and walk-in clinic.
The news organization said it is unclear why the clinic's operations were reduced.
James Trimarchi, director of planning at SVMC, told the Bennginton Banner that hospital officials are evaluating options for the clinic but are not ready to discuss details.
