The National Museum of Dentistry and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore received a $1.28 million grant to develop online learning tools to enhance oral health education.
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences, a branch of the National Institutes of Health, provided the five-year grant, which will help the museum and dental school launch "A Mouthful of History." The project includes disseminating online educational modules to students in pre-K through 12th grade nationwide, according to a July 18 news release.
This is the first NIH grant the dental museum has received.
