The American Dental Association, along with a coalition of business groups, expressed its support for the Main Street Tax Certainty Act of 2023.
If passed, the legislation would make the 20 percent tax deduction for small and family-owned businesses permanent, according to a July 10 news release.
The tax deduction, which is currently set to expire at the end of 2025, helps small businesses continue to grow and provide jobs to the communities they are in, the coalition said in a July 6 letter to Congress.
The legislation was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Steve Daines and by Rep. Lloyd Smucker in the House of Representatives, the release said.
