A retired South Carolina dentist will open a dental history museum next month, CBS affiliate News19 reported June 27.
Staci Gaffos, DMD, practiced dentistry for 56 years and has been collecting dental artifacts for several decades. He also served as president of the American Academy of the History of Dentistry.
He first opened the museum in 2014, but it closed a few months later after the Thousand-Year Flood hit the state. He has spent the last nine years restoring the museum and plans to open it to the public twice a week in July.
