American Dental Hygienists’ Association CEO Ann Battrell dies

Ann Battrell, CEO of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association since 2016, passed away June 7.

Ms. Battrell served as the organization’s president from 1996 to 1997. She is the first registered dental hygienist and former president to become CEO of the ADHA, according to a June 8 news release from the organization. 

Her main focuses as CEO were to advance and empower the profession of dental hygienists, increase access to care and reduce inequities in the industry.  

The American Dental Hygienists’ Association represents more than 226,000 dental hygienists across the country.
