The Texas Dentists for Medicaid Reform group recently filed a complaint with the Texas Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General over delays in the credentialing of Medicaid dentists.
The dental group said May 15 that ongoing delays in credentialing of substitute and emergency dentists are damaging the delivery of care to Medicaid patients and straining dental practices. The group added that an investigation is needed by an outside organization to get to the root causes of the delays.
The dental group's complaint was received by the Office of the Inspector General May 12. The office cannot give updates or information on open investigations.
