An Illinois dental office agreed to pay approximately $300,000 to settle allegations that it violated the False Claims Act.
Springfield, Ill.-based Familia Dental allegedly submitted claims to Medicaid for dental services that were not medically necessary from June 1, 2016, until November 26, 2019.
The United States will receive about $120,000 from the settlement, while the state will receive about $180,000, according to a May 11 news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of Illinois.
