The 68,000-square-foot building will be used to train students and provide care to patients, according to an April 13 news release. It is part of the school’s $94 million Healthy Smiles Initiative to increase access to dental care in the state.

The building includes a clinic for patients with special needs, an expanded practice for treating patients, educational spaces and training labs.

The venture was made possible in part by $7.7 million in donations from Delta Dental of Tennessee. The facility was named in honor of the organization’s support.
