The Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia is celebrating its 160th anniversary.
Philadelphia Dental College was founded in 1863 with 11 students. It merged with Temple University in 1907 and was renamed the Temple University School of Dentistry in 1913.
The dental school now features one of the largest dental clinics in the region, treating more than 30,000 patients each year, according to an April 6 news release.
The school will mark the milestone with special courses, an alumni awards luncheon, a gala reception and dinner and a white coat ceremony.
