The Massachusetts Dental Society Foundation awarded $64,850 to four organizations to expand oral healthcare access and education to underserved communities across the state.
Here are the four programs receiving access to care grants from the foundation:
1. Volunteers in Medicine Berkshires: $25,000
2. Action for Children and Teens In Oral Health Need: $15,000
3. Dental Lifeline Network – Massachusetts Donated Dental Services Program: $12,500
4. Holyoke Health Center: $12,350
The funds will be used to create low-cost dental clinics for children and teens, provide oral care to individuals with disabilities, fragile medical conditions and the elderly and continue expanding a network of dental hygienists and dental students to supply oral care to uninsured and underinsured patients.
