Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Ill., received a $1 million grant to advance its dental hygiene program.
The funds will be used to upgrade technology, create a new facility and expand the school's network, according to a March 16 news release from the school.
The grant comes from federal community project funding secured by U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly.
There is currently a waitlist to join the program, but the number of students who will be able to take the courses will be doubled because of the funding, the release said.
