The Dental Quality Assurance Commission has suspended the license of a Washington dentist after multiple infection control issues.
Daryl Yorek, DDS, of Pierce County, allegedly did not wash or sanitize his hands or dental chair between patients; placed an unclean, used instrument tray in a drawer with other instrument trays; did not use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean instruments; had a dirty sink and dental mirrors with residual material; had no current spore test log; and treated a patient who was not wearing safety glasses, according to a March 9 news release from the Washington State Department of Health.
Dr. Yorek is not able to practice dentistry in the state until resolving the allegations.
