A Georgia dental practice recently reported to police that its insurance checks were stolen, appenmedia.com reported Feb. 13.
Johns Creek (Ga.) Dental Associates said in a Jan. 31 police report that five checks mailed to its office totaling $2,560.90 were stolen and cashed. The checks were from insurance companies to settle claims.
The checks, dated November and December, were discovered to have been stolen in January by the dental practice's office manager. The office manager also told police she suspects the checks were stolen from a mailbox outside the business. There are no cameras facing the mailbox, but the dental practice has since added a lock to it, the report said.
