Campi Dental in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., has seen four generations of dental professionals and 90 years of success thanks to a few things keeping the practice ahead of its competition, the Asbury Park Press reported Feb. 8.
The practice was founded in 1933 by John Campi Sr., DDS, and joined by Thomas Campi, DMD, in 1969. John Campi III, DMD, and his brother Joseph Campi, DMD — grandsons and nephews to the two previous dentists, respectively — currently lead the practice. Dr. Campi III's daughter, Erin, is a dental hygienist who recently joined the practice and will soon be followed by Dr. Campi III's son, Jack, after he finishes dental school.
The brother-dentist duo told the news organization their practice is proud to be at the forefront of technology. Dr. Thomas Campi was one of the first dentists in Monmouth County to add laser technology, while Drs. John and Joseph Campi were among the first in the area to use digital radiography instead of film. The practice also recently added artificial intelligence technology.
Dr. Campi III said his practice is built on long-term relationships with its patients, often serving generations of families who live in and out of state. Additionally, the practice has long supported its community through philanthropic efforts such as a dental clinic established at Fitkin Hospital, now Jersey Shore University Medical Center, in Neptune Township, as well as internship opportunities and scholarships for students.
The dentists also attribute their success to the practice's 22-member team, which includes four doctors, four front desk associates, nine dental assistants and five dental hygienists. Some of the staff members have been with the practice for decades, Dr. Joseph Campi said.
