A woman from St. Clair Shores, Mich., has been charged with allegedly embezzling more than $200,000 from a dental practice where she was an employee at the time, the Woodward Talk reported Feb. 8.
Kimberly Monette, 38, was arrested Jan. 18 by the Berkley Public Safety Department, according to the Woodward Talk. A dentist at the practice filed a complaint with the Berkley Public Safety Department in May, telling investigators Ms. Monette allegedly had embezzled about $210,000 from him and the practice since January 2015.
Police said Ms. Monette allegedly embezzled money from the fraudulent use of credit cards in addition to giving herself extra pay, pay increases, vacation hours, altered hours worked and bonuses, according to the Woodward Talk. She allegedly embezzled the money from 2015 to 2022 and had worked at the practice for more than 20 years.
Ms. Monette was charged with embezzlement of $100,000 or more and embezzlement of $50,000 or more but less than $100,000, the report said.
