Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee received a $1 million gift from the We Energies Foundation to increase scholarship funding and enhance its clinics.
The funds will be used to expand scholarships available to first-generation college students in the Milwaukee area and students enrolled in Marquette's engineering and business administration programs.
The university, which provides dental care to patients in 66 of Wisconsin's 72 counties, will also improve its four clinics and 151 operating rooms by integrating new dental chairs and equipment, according to a Jan. 23 new release from the university.
The renovations will allow students to provide improved dental services and will be completed by 2026, the release said.
