University of the Pacific's Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco is building an oral and maxillofacial surgery center on its downtown campus.
The goal of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery SurgiCenter is to increase access to oral healthcare for low-income and historically underserved populations, according to a Jan. 11 news release from the school.
The 1,800-square-foot surgery center plans to serve more than 150 patients annually and to increase that number as the team expands.
The facility will have a reception area, a pre-op consultation room, three operating rooms, a post-anesthesia recovery unit, a pharmacy/dispensary area and a supply management area.
The school was awarded $350,000 by the Herbst Foundation to build the surgery center.
