California, New York and Texas have the most active dentists in the U.S. Here are nine dental updates from these states that Becker's has reported on since Dec. 15:
California
1. The California Dental Association took legal action against Delta Dental of California, challenging the insurer's adjustments to its Premier and PPO provider agreements that went into effect Jan. 1.
2. A California dentist accused of performing unnecessary dental work on patients will be allowed to continue practicing under probation.
3. Western Dental opened two offices in Colton and Glendale.
4. A California dental practice paid a $23,000 settlement after disclosing patients' protected health information while responding to negative reviews on social media.
Texas
1. Sonrava Health opened a Brident Dental & Orthodontics office in Lewisville.
2. Vista Verde Dental Partners opened its first Britely Dentures + Implants office in Texas.
3. US Dental Surgery Network acquired OMS Logistics of Texas and added nine practices in the state.
4. Guardian Dentistry Partners added a practice in Houston to its network.
New York
1. Specialty1 Partners added New York City Endodontics to its network.
