Colgate-Palmolive is partnering with NASA to conduct research on oral and skin health in space, Fast Company reported Dec. 7.
With the help of former NASA astronaut Cady Coleman, PhD, Colgate will work toward developing advanced and sustainable products to improve the oral and skin health of astronauts and then making use of the innovations on Earth. Dr. Coleman, who conducted experiments while aboard the International Space Station, signed on as a strategic advisor to Colgate's microgravity research.
The research will explore how oral bacteria and skin behave in space. Colgate previously participated in research with NASA and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and College of Engineering to study the growth and treatment of oral bacteria in space.
