Dozens of dental companies teamed up to expand services, launch programs and develop new technology.
Here are 18 deals that took place in 2022:

1. Restorative dentistry company Renew and denture supplier AvaDent entered a strategic partnership to advance Renew's restorative dentistry system. The deal allows AvaDent to supply prosthetic components to Renew for the development of its restorative system, which includes anchored dentures that can be completed in a one-day procedure.
2. Liberty Dental Plan will provide dental benefits to members in Kaiser Permanente's Mid-Atlantic region beginning in January 2024 as part of a partnership between the two companies.
3. Overjet partnered with several dental companies to expand use of its artificial intelligence technology, including Platinum Dental Services, ProHEALTH Dental, Dental Whale, Coast Dental and Carestream Dental.
4. Delta Dental of New Jersey and VSP Vision Care collaborated to launch DeltaVision, a benefits plan that includes vision coverage.
5. Teledentistry company the TeleDentists and preventive health testing company Total Health Screens came together to bring diabetes testing to dental offices.
6. Boston-based nonprofit CareQuest Institute for Oral Health collaborated with the Journal of Public Health Dentistry on a special issue that is centered around anti-racism in dental public health.
7. Sage Dental teamed up with Japanese clear aligner manufacturer SheepMedical to offer KiyoClear orthodontic aligners at its supported locations throughout the U.S.
8. The Medicaid-Medicare-CHIP Services Dental Association and dental artificial intelligence company Overjet worked together to create the first national Medicaid artificial intelligence dental program initiative.
9. Georgetown, Texas-based Smile Doctors began a partnership with Minor League Baseball to spread awareness about orthodontics care to adults and children through in-stadium activities and fan interactions, branded content and a weekly highlight series called "Plays That Make Us Smile."
10. Oral health brand Colgate partnered with Walmart to spread awareness of its new recyclable toothpaste packaging and to bring mobile dental clinics to the retailer's locations nationwide.
11. Align Technology entered a strategic partnership with Asana Smiles, a work management platform, to offer Invisalign-trained doctors in the U.S. a new workflow solution.
12. Dentsply Sirona worked with Google Cloud to launch a cloud-based digital dentistry platform that allows dentists to digitally collaborate with labs, partners and specialists.
13. SprintRay, a dental manufacturing company, and Subscribili, a healthcare subscription service, partnered to expand SprintRay's 3D printing hardware into subscription enablement software.
14. 3D printing company 3D Systems and Swiss supplier Saremco Dental AG collaborated to create new 3D printing materials for dental procedures.
15. Orange, Calif.-based Western Dental teamed up with the NFL Alumni Association-Southern California Chapter, Walgreens and Water and Power Community Credit Union to offer free COVID-19 and flu vaccinations and COVID-19 antigen testing before Super Bowl LVI.
16. Pacific Dental Services is collaborating with Commonwealth Primary Care ACO to provide integrated medical-dental services for in-network patients in Arizona.
17. Pearl partnered with several dental companies to expand use of its artificial intelligence technology, including Curve Dental, Dntl Bar, Risas Dental and Braces, SOTA Imaging and Midway Dental.
18. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Marquee Dental Partners partnered with healthcare data platform company HealthEM.AI to bring artificial intelligence services to its practices.
