The American Dental Association urged dentists to contact their senators in support of the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act.
The bipartisan legislation, which passed the House of Representatives April 4, would require insurers to cover dental and oral procedures to treat birth defects.
The ADA stressed in its Nov. 16 alert that dentists should contact senators before the end of the year when Congress adjourns, otherwise the bill will need to be reintroduced.
